3 essential steps that I’ve used to create profitable fitness bootcamps

There are a lot of resources in this website to draw from. I hope you've already downloaded my free resources and that you’re starting to get excited about starting or revitalizing your fitness bootcamp.

And now I want to ask you to do something for me (it’s gonna be fun, I promise.)

Real quick, grab a pen or pencil and paper, and be prepared to write down just a few key pieces of information.

And in exchange, I’m going to walk you through the 3 essential steps that I’ve used to create profitable fitness bootcamps, working just a few hours a week.

Sound like a deal?

Okay, I’ll wait a moment while you grab something to write with. :)

Picture this for a moment.

What if you could finally take your passion for fitness and create a six-figure income just by working part time hours?

What if you could say “sayonara” to the 9-5 slog and finally have control over your own schedule, so it’s filled with the stuff you love?

What if you could take your struggling bootcamp business and transform it into the vehicle for the dream lifestyle you know that it can be, in less than 90 days?

Sound too good to be true?

I used to think so too. But just a few months ago I started a boot camp from scratch – with no existing clients – and went from earning zilch to over $300 an hour in less than 90 days.

I train my clients for three hours a week.

And all the “business stuff” – marketing, communicating with my members – takes me less than 4 hours a week.

To accomplish this,

… I didn’t have to spend hours on marketing or become a website master or sling door-hangers on every house in town …

… and I didn’t have to plunk down five to ten thousand dollars on an expensive licensing or franchising program …

Instead, I was able to do it because I have an unfair advantage for creating a successful bootcamp business that I can use anytime, anywhere.

And it actually has nothing to do with salesmanship, or offering the right discount, or using Facebook, or anything like that.

In fact, if you’ve started a bootcamp already and you are not seeing the results you want – if you struggle to add even just one new client a week – then I bet it’s probably because you’re missing this first essential component.

(The best part? It’s easy and fun to do -- the “trick” is all about doing what you love.)

My secret?

Simply put, I set myself up for massive success at the very beginning …

… by choosing a PROFITABLE NICHE.

Get this right, and everything else falls into place.

Get it wrong, and you’ll struggle to add a single client to your camps.

In essence, a PROFITABLE NICHE is the “sweet spot” -- the intersection between your talents and the needs of your customers.

And right now I want to share with you the 3 simple steps to finding your own profitable niche.

Sound good? Okay, let’s get started.

Here are the three steps:

1) Discover the kind of training you have the most PASSION for by picturing your perfect client.

2) Identify the NEEDS of your marketplace to find a match.

and 3) Establish yourself as the UNIQUE provider of the “secret sauce” in your bootcamp experience.

Real quick, let’s go through each of these right now. Please have your pen handy. (And don’t worry, it’ll be fun.)

Step # 1: Your Passion.

Here’s a quick question – don’t overthink this – write down the name of your favorite client of all time.

I mean the one you felt truly excited to train each day … not just because they were a cool person, but because you loved helping them achieve their specific results.

Maybe it’s that teenage ball player who is on fire to become the best conditioned shortstop on the field, and you get a thrill helping him become a rocket on the diamond.

Maybe it’s the new mom who’s struggling to shed her post-baby fat, and you feel a surge of fulfillment each time you help her melt away one more pound.

It doesn’t matter who it is, as long as helping that person feeds something inside your soul.
Take a quick moment and write down the first person that comes to mind.

(Don’t worry, you can change this later. But commit yourself to taking just a little action right now. Trust me, it makes all the difference.)

Step # 2: Find a match in your marketplace.

Now, once you’ve identified who your ideal client is, the next step is to ask yourself if there are more of them in your community.

Most likely, there ARE.

So for example, if you love training high school athletes, do you think you can find more high school athletes in your town or city? Of course.

And if you feel a true satisfaction helping new moms regain their pre-pregnancy bodies, do you think there are more of these women eagerly waiting around the next corner?

Probably yeah. (People are still having babies, right?)

Now you may not always find an exact match.

It can depend on where you live, how big a place it is, and how specific your interests is, so that’s why this step is important. You may need to slightly modify who you want to help.

So, for example, if your passion is training people for a “Tough Mudder” in the Australian outback – and you live in a town of 5,000 people – you might not have enough customers to create a bootcamp around this niche.

But …

You might just find plenty of people hungry for an intense, outdoor training experience that will whip their sorry butts into shape. And gladly pay you for it. And that can be your profitable niche.

Step # 3: Establish yourself as the UNIQUE provider in the marketplace.

This third step is simple.

Now that you’ve identified #1) Your Passion and #2) The Needs of your community, it’s time to make sure you are UNIQUE in what you offer – the only game in town.

This is the key to an independent income, working just a few hours a week to fuel your dreams.
So think about the other bootcamps in your area (and if there are no other bootcamps, then you’re done with this step.)

For example, if you want to make a difference in the lives of young athletes --are there any other camps offering this? Chances are, there aren’t, so you can go ahead with building your unique boot camp.

(It’s astonishing at how FEW boot camps have established their niche.)

But even if there are, that doesn’t mean you have to start over. Because …

There is often a quick way to differentiate yourself from your competitors.

Look deep into what they offer – check out their web page, maybe even talk to a customer or two, or just talk to the camp owners directly – and figure out what makes you different.

So if it’s athletes you help, maybe you help with a the specific sport, or gender – like volleyball and softball players.

Or maybe it’s the type of bootcamp experience you provide, or the expertise you bring to the game – maybe you were a scholarship college athlete.

Whatever it is, now is the time to think about it, long before you create your first website, flyer, or workout program.

...Because once you have these three steps nailed down, you have created your PROFITABLE NICHE.

This is the foundation you can build a truly successful bootcamp on.

I’ll give you a quick example.

I know a bootcamp instructor, Greg, who specializes in working with the elderly – people age 60 and up.

Greg’s in his fifties himself, and because he knows first-hand what age can do to a body, he has a strong desire to help people maintain their shape into extreme old age. That is his PASSION.
And he knows there are plenty of people in his community who want that, even among his small group of family and friends. He found a NEED.

And last, he realized that no one else in his town was helping the elderly.

Sure, there were general, “one size fits nobody” boot camps, but Greg’s mission to help the elderly was the only game in town. So he had UNIQUE edge.

Greg had all three elements for a profitable niche.

Greg’s niche has been a roaring success. His clients told their friends, word raced through the local senior center, and he has people lining up to maintain their active lives.

Greg is “it” – he’s the man in this niche, and so marketing becomes a breeze. His bootcamp practically sells itself.

And, his niche sets the stage for all the other steps of building a profitable bootcamp.

For example, the specific training program he offers (marathon runs are out)

… the kind of results he promises (he doesn’t need to waste his breath promising “hot abs”)

… the kind of certification he needs and the equipment he uses …

… and on and on, all determined by his niche.

(Can you see why it’s so important to get this right at the very beginning? To avoid all those hours of wasted effort?)

And imagine how good this feels for Greg – what a difference he’s making in the lives of people in his community.

And to top it off, he has a steady, reliable stream of income, and he only has to train a handful of hours a week.

Now this is exactly what I did when I started my second bootcamp business a few years back. My first time creating a bootcamp, I had to learn the hard way – I’ll tell you about that in just a moment.

But this time, I focused on a single niche that no one else was offering – middle school and high school athletes (and really the parents that wanted the kids to get in shape for next season – and with that foundation in place, I was able to skyrocket my hourly income from nada to over $300 per hour in less than 90 days.

I did this exact same process to build an adult fitness boot camp targeting a very specific age bracket and demographic in my area with huge success. In spite of the fact that there were other boot camps AND THREE CROSSFIT GYMS WITHIN 5 MILES!

And once I had my PROFITABLE NICHE, building the actual bootcamp business was a straightforward, step-by-step process.

Now, you’ve just seen an overview of how to start your own profitable bootcamp, and now I want to show you exactly how you can build the entire business – everything from what business license you need to how to duplicate your camps so you can massively expand your revenue -- using a system that I call the “Boot Camp Business Enterprise Course.”

This is the same system I used to start my profitable bootcamp in record time.

The “Enterprise Program” took me over a year to put together, and it’s filled with all the strategies and business shortcuts I’ve learned in my 16+ years of fitness business experience – as a personal trainer, gym owner, and seasoned bootcamp pro.

The “Boot Camp Business Enterprise Course” can truly be your vehicle for independence, as it was for me.

And now it is included FREE with my Action Fitness Camp Franchise. You can be an owner and use the system.

(By the way, even if you already run your own boot camp this still works as a great add-on!)

And the great news is that you’ve already started, because the first step is establishing your profitable niche. (And in the program I’ll give you more instructions on how to really nail down your niche.)
From there, you’ll go on to discover and master the 8 essential components of a profitable fitness bootcamp.

When you sign up today, you get instant, online access to over 30 videos with 10+ hours and 300+ pages of instructions.

And because each module is designed to be implemented right away, you won’t get bogged down with “information overload” – instead, you’ll be having a blast putting into practice what you learn and seeing real results right away.

You’ll build your business one component at a time.

Here is what you’ll learn:

Module # 1. Starting Your Business

How to create the right business structure (so you don’t end up spinning your wheels over whether to have an “s” corp or an LLC) … secure the proper insurance so both you and your clients are protected … the licenses and certification you need so you don’t have lawyers breathing down your neck … and all the other nuts and bolts you need to establish your business. You’ll get copies of the actual forms I used, so you won’t struggle just to get started.

Module # 2. How to Secure a great, low-cost (and often free) Camp Location

You’ll learn strategies like how to negotiate a great lease or even start a camp for free so you can get started today without a cent.

Module # 3. Program Design.

Let me spill a secret right now: Providing an outstanding training experience for your clients is the EASIEST way to attract and keep quality paying customers.

That’s why you’ll learn a template system for creating the perfect workout every time, so your clients won’t get bored (and neither will you).

You’ll discover how to balance the needs of the group and the individual, maintain the excitement of your attendees with games, reward progress with challenges, how to create workouts that add progression (or regression when necessary), and more.

Module # 4. Marketing.

The first time I struggled to do group training, my breakthrough moment came when I put in place a marketing system that ran automatically.

I’ll take you through the steps I developed, as well as “copy and paste” email and Facebook ad scripts you can use so you don’t have to struggle to come up with the right words.
Georgette has also opened her “vault” of successful ad campaigns that have run for years, and you’ll get access to these.

Module # 5. Sales.

Anyone who runs a business must know how to close a sale – but don’t worry, you don’t have to be a “natural born salesperson.” All it takes is a system.

I’m not saying you’ll be able to close every prospect that checks out your boot camp – and you wouldn’t want to. (That’s the great thing about running your own business – you get to turn away those “problem” customers that give you nothing but headaches.)

And, because of the foundation you developed with the previous modules, you’ll find closing is pretty simple.

When you have identified your right niche -- when you’ve put in place an exciting training experience -- and when you have automated your marketing --  then closing the sale happens almost by itself.

You’ll learn how to build rapport, overcome objections, build desire in a potential client, walk them through the process, and how to help them make a decision.

(Actually, if you have even the slightest fear of sales – you don’t need to. Because closing a sale uses the exact same skills you already use in helping a personal training client … building rapport … developing the desire to excel … walking them through the training process. So this will be easy! You already know how!)

Module # 6. System Automation

You’ll discover how to automate all the systems you’ve developed so you put things on autopilot, saving you hours of time and headache each week.

This means you’ll be able to kick back and watch Family Guy, or run to the beach with friends, because you now have specialized software taking care of things like billing for you.

This includes systems that cover member management, billing using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), email communication systems (and newsletters), and more.

Module # 7. Hiring Other Trainers

Now, these last two modules are for you ambitious entrepreneurs out there.

So far, you’ve learned everything you need to know to create a thriving, in-demand fitness bootcamp that will put hundreds of dollars in your pocket every time you put on a class.

And if you want more … if you’re dreaming of a fleet of sports cars … this is where you learn how to put your business into OVER-ACHIEVER mode.

And the first step is to learn how to use “OPT” – “Other People’s Time.” Specifically, hiring other trainers.

You’ll discover the steps I used to find the trainers who were the best fit for my business.
(Notice I didn’t say the “best trainers for my business” … I said “best fit.” This is a key difference, that I had to learn the hard way.)

You’ll learn what questions to ask and what red flags to look out for, so you have a great team behind you.

And finally, once you have your dynamic team, you’re ready for …

Module # 8. Expansion & Market Domination

Here you’ll learn how to plant boot camps in multiple locations in a single city, and multiple camps in multiple cities … so you can dominate an entire county, state, and maybe even beyond – depending on your ambition.

This is where I share how I learned to go from one camp in one city, to over 10 camps in 4 cities, running every day (sometimes twice a day) under a team of 8 trainers.

As you can see, the “Enterprise Program” truly covers everything you need to know to start your first successful bootcamp (or revitalize a struggling one).

Now, how much does this all cost?

Well, considering that this program contains over 10+ hours of my business expertise, and my business coaching runs $250 an hour, it’s understandable if you’re worried the program might cost several thousands of dollars.

And to be honest, it’s easily worth that much.

Because when you consider that the only thing comparable to this is the franchising and licensing arrangements that the “bootcamp gurus” offer – which cost between 5 and 10 thousand dollars just to get started, and cost you several hundred dollars more a month for the life of your business
(And which don’t even teach you everything that I do, like how to build a fleet of thriving bootcamps)

… then it’s understandable if you fear the cost for all this might be out of your reach.

But it’s not.

Because I remember how hard it was to get started from nothing and that’s why you won’t pay anything close to that high price tag if you sign up today.

Instead, the price is so low it will blow your mind! Yes, I just said that.

Once you decide to inquire about it, you’ll be taken to a simple form that looks just like this: https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/s2n6v1

Your private information will be kept completely secure and you have no risk because it is 100% guaranteed. You can also cancel at any time if you change your mind.

You’ll have the option to save $1,997 off of my normal price if you pay in full before the price goes up, so that you can begin to use my blueprint today and see real results before you have to pay for anything else – so that you can “earn as you learn.”

So if you’re on fire and ready to go, you have the potential to earn back the cost of the entire program within your first month – before you even get charged for your second payment.

Now, let me be absolutely honest with you. Will you be able to do this?

That depends a lot on you. I believe that if you are driven to succeed, if you want to have a life of independence doing what you love – fitness and helping others – then this program will give you the tools to make it happen.

But you still have to take action, and your results may not be the same as mine.

And that’s why I want to remove all risk for you, so I’m insisting you get to see the entire program without risking a dime with my iron-clad, 30-day Guarantee.

If you feel at any time in the next 30 days that I haven’t delivered for you, just send me a quick email and I’ll refund your entire purchase price – no runaround.

That means you could go through every module, learn all the steps to create a successful bootcamp, put it into action in the next 30 days and see amazing results, and still get a full refund. That’s a risk for me, but I believe in betting on the honesty of people.

And when you order today in the next 30 minutes, you’ll be getting even more than the complete Boot Camp Business Enterprise Course – because I want to give you real-time support.

That’s why you’ll also become an instant member of the private Action Fitness Camp Owner's Facebook Group I created.

It’s a close-knit group where the latest strategies and tools are discussed. This is real-time back ‘n’ forth exchange between bootcamp pro’s just like yourself, a place where it’s possible to discover a single gem that can accelerate your business to the next level.

This program has been previously offered at $350 a month, but by ordering today you get it access for free.

Plus, I personally conduct group coaching calls when needed every month. This is your chance to address any speed-bumps that are holding you back in your business. We’ve charged $250 for these group calls alone each month, but they are included free in your order today.

Basically? You’re getting a shortcut to a freedom lifestyle that it took me years to develop.

In these last few minutes with you, I want to share with you my story of how I stumbled into bootcamps and almost gave up.

Back in 2009, at the height of the recession, I had lost control of the gym I had sunk everything into and was back to personal training. One on one.

That made no sense to me, especially after coming out of owning a gym, so I began to look into the whole group fitness thing. The math just made too much sense.

So I started my first bootcamp -- at a city park, all by myself – no equipment, in the dead of winter – rain or shine (mostly rain, as I live near Seattle), ready to grab anyone who happened to be around, anyone I could rope into for training.

To top it off, I had recently moved to a new town and so I had virtually no contacts. And oh, yeah, this was in the depths of the “Great Recession” so people in my small town didn’t have a lot of free cash to spend.

Those first 6 months were incredibly tough. (Although in hindsight, it proved to be the best learning experience I could possibly have to develop this “Enterprise Program”.)

I remember some really bad moments – sitting in my car while the rain was pouring down, no one showing up at a camp I had spent hours and dollars I couldn’t spare on costly marketing … away from my wife and my two kids … wondering what the heck I was doing.

… or the times when I’d show up at the high school and the gate was locked, and I didn’t have a key, so I had to face my clients and pretend like this was all part of some master plan (and then watching some clients leave in frustration).

… or spending hours hanging 240 door hangers in a neighborhood just to get 2 leads -- exhausting myself in pounding the pavement, so I barely had enough energy to run a camp later that day.

But there were glimmers of hope too – an excited new client who had heard about this crazy guy running in the rain – and I knew that if I could just stick with it, I would have a financial vehicle that could allow me to spend my time as I wanted.

So finally, after those first 6 months, I mastered how to deliver a great camp experience. And on the anniversary of my first year in business, I finally had a push-button marketing system in place, so I could add new clients almost automatically.

(And twelve months in, I finally found my niche. Oh well, better late than never.)

And that’s also when I began to invest in my education (I was too cheap before). That’s when it began to dawn on me how much more profitable my camp could become by leveraging an entire business system.

So that by the time my second anniversary rolled around, I had camps that did $14,000 in a month, with 10+ bootcamps running in 4 cities, with 8 trainers on the payroll.

Then I decided to sell my “mini-franchise” and focus on my nutrition business, which was growing rapidly.

After that, I thought I was done with bootcamps.

But part of me missed the training, and I also realized it was a simple, sure-fire way to add an additional stream of income – now that I had a proven plan in place.

And the result? In under 90 days, my bootcamp was bringing in over 3 grand a month – just as a side income – with me training only 3 hours a week.

(To put this into perspective, at year’s end of my first bootcamp, I was working 20 hours a week to make this same amount of money.)

Now, you can learn what you need the hard way, like I did. Maybe you’re the type of person who learns best that way, and I totally respect that.

But if you want a shortcut … if you want to slash your development time … if your main goal is to get an independent income as fast as possible, so you can ditch the 9-5 and instead be doing what you love, with plenty of free time for friends, family, and your hobbies in the bargain, then the “Boot Camp Business Enterprise Course” included in the Action Fitness Camp Licensing System is for you.

I’m sure you’ll make the right choice, and I’ll see you on the inside.
